Into Romania

I waken before the sun and get lovely glimpses of it rising - glimpses because the window is glazed; I press the mobile phone camera up against the glass through a gap in the glaze to try and get a pikky.

A pleasant little man comes through with coffees - local currency (lei) which we don’t have but Euros, yes; fortunately I have some small change. Lukewarm but will do.

It is a new timezone, so we have lost an hour - makes the journey shorter😁!!

There are views to the Carpathian Mountains - covered in snow. It certainly is cold this morning.

The train stops at Sibiu. We will be here in a few days time.

According to the conductor, the train is running 45 mins late. Also, when I ask if the carriage door we entered by will be unlocked he says “no” and shrugs his shoulders; I had watched him early this morning in his singlet struggling to open it with his huge collection of keys, trying one after another. He understood when I said “kaput” and nodded. I felt like suggesting the whole train was kaput.
